Join me in a journey. Through the years I’ve envied friends who in their younger years decided to back pack through Europe for 3-6 months knowing only their arrival city and date and their departure city and gate and everything else in between was left for discovery. This blog will be like that.
Spiritual leaders are first and foremost influencers and while a few leaders have the natural charisma to project confidence and clarity most of us find the exercise of such an awesome responsibility to be a discipline of acquired and practiced process. This blog is intended for those who want and need the discipline.
In this blog I’m going to explore the fundamentals of what spiritual leadership actually is. Having spent a fair portion of my adult life experiencing, training and writing about leadership in general and spiritual leadership in particular, I’ve come to a point where, for me, it is essential that I go back and review my root understandings.
It is my intention you will gain practical relevant knowledge you can put to wrok immediately to help become even more effective as a leader while gaining a deeper understanding as to why you do what you do.
If you want to come along, here’s some things I want you to know:
- I pledge any posting can be read in 5 minutes or less, hence the name of the blog.
- It will be organized. This blog isn’t about me and my life. It’s about spiritual leadership and my journey to find practical applications and to help you be an even more effective leader.
- It will be regular. Be sure and subscribe to the blog. I will post 3-5 times a week.
As with any blog your, thoughts and comments are encouraged.
In the weeks to come we’ll be exploring key thoughts and quotes from whatever book I'm currently reading or re-reading on leadership, adult learning principles key to leader influence, my understanding that’s formed my micro-theology of spiritual leadership and a new definition of effective leadership.
One way you can help me is to let your staff, friends and colleagues know about the blog and encourage them to check out and subscribe to the feed.
Let the journey begin. There is a lot to see and experience.
Thank you Larry. I got it. Constancy is important in all areas.

Isn't there something about competence? It is from God, but must be evident to would-be-followers. Small example: re Josuah, "no one of military age who left Israel". Now I'm sure you mean Egypt, but a more tender reader might at least be confused or more seriously, question what else might be a mistake or was it a mistake. Trust can erode that way too.

Ron, "management" has never been my forte. However, I have praised the Lord that he has brought managers around me with whom I could work as a team. How beautiful it is when the body works as a unit.
